So the story of the wedding shoes starts out as a very reasonable one… I just wanted some simple, pretty shoes, in yellow, and for a reasonable price. Finding my dress was such an easy process, I figured this would be the same.

WRONG.

It started out easy… I googled "yellow shoes," and quickly I learned that being so vague was going to be a problem, unless I wanted to wear yellow rainboots under my dress. I swiftly learned that the style of shoes I was gravitating toward was called a d'Orsay, and learning that helped my search significantly.

From that point, there were three categories of problems I faced. I will summarize below:

Problem Category #1… WHO ORDERS YELLOW SHOES?? I'll tell ya who. HOOCHIES. And I say that with no disrespect what-so-ever. In-fact the reason I say that is because many of the yellow shoes I found came with a 174" heel, and matching platform, and if you are a girl that can walk in shoes like that, you deserve all the respect I have to give. Looking at some of those shoes made me cringe with the impending doom of the ankle injuries I would surely endure should I choose to wear them.

Problem Category #2… When the google stars finally aligned, and I not only found shoes I felt I could walk in without injuring myself, as well as in the correct color and style, they were of the hopelessly discontinued variety. For example: The J.Crew gold bow shoes that were the bane of my existence for several weeks… I mean, how cute, right? Sadly, they were only available in 2008, and I was driving myself batshit insane watching eBay to see if any popped up in my size (which is GIANT MAN FEET size, incase you were wondering, and not likely to become available.)

Problem Category #3… This category came about when I reached the dangerous far-away land of the female mind, which sometimes happens when you are shopping for something very specific, and that place is called: DESPERATE. And it was in this fragile state-of-mind where I ended up about three clicks away from purchasing a very expensive pair of Kate Spade italian silk heels that I had convinced myself I could A) afford, and B) wear again (both of which were horrible horrible lies.) And while I believe a girl should splurge every once-in-a-while for something fancy for herself… Yellow heels were not the right splurge for me.

Sad and defeated, I went to the only place one should go when in need of support. Facebook. Where my friend Carrie (MY GENIUS FRIEND CARRIE, by the way) suggested I look into Dyables. Wanting desperately to check this item off my wedding "to-do list", I took that idea and ran with it. No, I freaken LUGED with that idea like I was in the Olympics… And two weeks later, my shoes arrived.

And they're simple, and yellow, and inexpensive… And, well, magic.

<span style=”font-size: 8pt;”>(Please excuse my chipping pedicure, which is in need of a re-paint.)

And even though they still look like man feet, they are MY man feet in cute yellow shoes, and that is what I wanted for my wedding.

<span style=”color: #ff0000;”>DONE.

Oh, yellow shoes…

Carrie - Gorgeous! I adore the color!
Steph - I love that you photographed AND POSTED the picture of you wearing the shoes and you didn’t touch up your toes beforehand! Love that!!!
sj - I thought about touching it up, Steph… And then I realized that probably 90% of the time it’s chipping (yep, I am THAT girl), so let’s just be real and go with it.
Breanne - perfect! simply perfect!!! love them! you are just going to look simply stunning my dear!!
