j’adore parking garage

I was shooting a wedding for Sweet Jane recently, and because of a rain storm that rolled through at the exact wrong moment, we were unable to make it to a parking garage to get some shots of the bride & groom.  Ever since then, it’s been in my mind that I really wanted to get out and play in a parking garage.  Shortly after that wedding, another photographer I follow shared some amazing portraits of a highschool senior that were shot in a garage, and I was sold.   Lucky for me, I knew just where to find the perfect empty garage…  Unlucky for my kids – it meant they would have to spend their afternoon being my guinea pigs…  There may or may not have been some bribery involved…

We were there, literally, 23 minutes.  I kid you not.  Our session ended abruptly when a loud motorcycle sped by the outside of the garage creating a roaring echo on the inside that was so loud it sounded like we were all about to be eaten by a T-Rex, and before I could even get myself up off the ground (you know, to fight off that T-Rex) both kids were attached permanently to one of my legs, and the fear on their faces told me I had tortured them enough for one day.  To be honest, if my Mom had been there, I might have been attached to her leg too.

Thanks so much, annoying motorcycle.  But I digress…

Still, in 23 minutes, I was able to prove the theory that parking garages are – in fact – AWESOME locations for sessions.  Check it out:

And here’s the point where I realized she is totally nine giong on nineteen.

I sure do love these goof-balls!!
