the inaugural bug of 2012

Echo was bouncing around the yard hot on the trail of something the other day, so I went to see what it was only to discover he had found a little tiny bee.  I ran to grab my camera, but by the time I returned, the bee was gone.

*sigh*

I sure do miss bugs.  Well, all bugs aside from ONE, that is (I could do without spiders, as you might already have guessed.)

On my way back inside, I just happened to find this little fly.   The lone bug in all the land at Princeton House (I’m being a tad bit dramatic, no?)

So there he is, the inaugural bug of 2012, to hopefully kick off a great summer of bugs that get photographed.  At full size, you can actually see the hairs on his little mouth pinchers, and I am a little concerned at how much enjoyment I got out of that fact…

Six legs or less is the rule…  Bring it on!!

kristie kulik - I get so excited when I see someone get so much joy out of those little critters like I do!!! And seriously…the first time I realized, thanks to my macro lens, that flies had fuzzy butts? NO WORDS.
