Mr Keegan has been a bit obsessed with a brand of dolls called Lala Loopsy lately. I completely recognize that he’s got his own ideas of what’s awesome, and about 99% of the time his ideas are not the mainstream, and I am ok with that. On occasion, I do press him just a little (ya know – just to make sure he really wants to rock that Lala Loopsy lunchbox at summer school.) And on occasion, I do wonder where I may have stepped just slightly off the “normal” path with these kids of mine (after all, I do have a little girl who loves dirt & bugs, and a little boy who loves dolls… whoopsie.) But man-oh-man, I double dog dare you not to race directly to the cash register after seeing this little one’s eyes light up at the toy store as he spotted that ferris wheel set and squealed: ”MUMMAH! WOOK!!! A EEEERIS EEL!!!”

And for the record, my heart explodes a thousand times over every time I see him playing with it.

jenn shurkus - i think its fabulous! and for the record when I was alyzas age… i was out trekking it in the woods with jimbo peeing behind a tree and playing with his metal tonka trucks in the sand pit. I admire you for stepping back and letting your kids just be kids… and not focus on what everyone else is doing. Then again, I still wanted to play with my barbies in 5th grade
and i turned out ok
amy - oh how sweet– i just love a kid that marches to the beat of his OWN drum
he’s a keeper!!
