Ohh, Instagram. I love you so much.
Instagram was one of the first apps I downloaded when I got my iPhone. Everyone was buzzing about it and I had a few friends who were already using it, so I decided to check it out… I am usually tardy to the party with these kinds of things… This was no exception.

Five months into this little project, and I am madly madly in love with it. Not only has instagram allowed me to document everything about my life from the beautiful and rare moments (sunrise with the love of my life in Maine) to the completely mundane routine moments (sipping a glass of wine while I cook dinner for the fam.) I love that. I REALLY LOVE THAT!!
Bottom line is, my instagram account is now at slightly over 500 pictures of my life from October 2011 through today. As much as I use and abuse my fancy-pants camera for photos of my family (and it’s a lot, trust me.) These are instances and moments I would have never recorded without this phone, and this app. The built in filters are just the icing on the cake. Turning your life into art.
Love. Everything. About. It.
I could sit here all day and tell you my thoughts on the importance of custom photography. It is, afterall, a large part of my life. But above that, my feeling has always been. Just take pictures. Take them with whatever means you have. A disposable film camera that you pick up at CVS. Your cell phone. The point & shoot your Mom got you for Christmas last year. A $6000 DSLR. Just take them. Take LOTS of them.
Because, when I see that picture of Stacy up there, holding her keys up in the air with a huge smile on her face, and I remember that I snapped that after we stood in the parking lot waiting for a police man to come and break into her car because we had locked the keys inside… I still giggle. And that is why it’s awesome!
